2 weeks then 2 months. What's next 2 years?

Well my nearly two month hiatus is over. I skipped only two weeks the last time. I'd still like to get back to everyday posting. This should be a great log to look back on years from now. If it's still online. I'll back it up for safety at some point.

Since March 13th we've had a few major events. Alexa and Billy had a nice birthday bash at a laser tag establishment and a family dinner that was extremely well attended by both sides of our families. My wife has taken to her new job and is excelling at her tasks. Dad has dropped out of the FLW tour for the last few attempts to concentrate on KBD. Mom is cranking out her degree at Sinclair, my Sister bought a new Mini-Van. I'm sure there's been a lot more going on with everyone. Both of my Grandfather's are getting along. Neither doing very well, but they are troopers.

Kenden is sprouting like the flowers in Springtime - there's something new a beautiful occuring each day with him. The other day at my computer while just tapping away at the keyboard he started counting... "1,2,3,4,5,6,7" and he's not even 2 yet. He'll turn 2 in 15 days, 7 hours and 12 minute. Not that I'm counting.

Today was excting for me at work. I finally was able to shut down the old network I began replacing almost 2 years ago. All systems were converted and I unplugged the old Cisco 6509 core switch at the ancient Bay Backbone Concentrator Node. The BCN was at the core of this network when it was all Token Ring. I have a network diagram from April 1997 that shows it as such. 8 years out of a $20,000 router. Not bad I guess. It ran like a champ - and that's a good thing because the last guy that knew how to support it left back in August. We have a contract with SBC if it were to need support, but it never did. I'm a 100% Cisco guy and were nearly a 100% Cisco IT shop, but there's something to be said for Bay Networks, (previously Wellfleet, now Nortel).

Well off to go enjoy my shuttle bus ride to the parking lot at Elder Beerman's and then my nice commute through downtown Dayton construction taffic on I-75. Then hopefully get KJ before 6:30 p.m. if Wendy doesn't get him before me!

Mj.
